Being from Chicago and attending a Chicago Public high school, you will learn the difference between friends and associates, QUICK! . As a young adult , it is common to find yourself hanging with the wrong crowd. You only fall into the wrong crowd when you are not around  true friends .  



How would You know the difference ?

• A Friend is someone you can always depend on and no matter the circumstance or the situation they will be your aid. Your friends will not let you go through anything alone, they will support you even if they don’t agree with what you are saying and they will stick by your side no matter what. A real friend encourages and speak words of encouragement, reminding you of how amazing you are when you are doubting yourself.

• An Associate is someone you may only surround yourself with for entertainment purposes, work, or classroom environments. Associates would not be  concerned, or care about what is best for you. They’ll brush off what you have to say when talking positive about yourself. An Associate won’t let you be “too” happy . They’ll never have your best interest at heart.

The importance of knowing the distinction between the two.
Knowing the distinction between Friends and Associates is essential to your life. The people you surround yourself with is a reflection of you (yes a reflection of you) . Surround yourself with positive and uplifting people. Negativity does come but surround yourself with people that tell you not everything deserves your attention. You deserve people that want the best from you and bring out the best in you. Not people that take the best from you. Evaluate your crowd and surround yourself with people that  not only will be there for you but will help and guide you if need be.
